1993 Minnesota Blades

  • The Blades finished in the top 4 out of 21 teams in the 2007 North American AAA Prospects Showcase (NAPS) Tournament in Rochester, New York hosted by the East Coast Selects over the June 28-July 1 weekend. In pool play, the Blades earned the number three seed in their pool competing against the Southeast Selects, Redhawks AAA, East Coast Selects-New England, and the Syracuse Stars. In the playoffs, the Blades beat Trion Hockey 3-1, beat Front Row Sports 4-0, and loss to Wild Mille Isles of Quebec City 3-5 in the semi-final game.
     
  • The Minnesota 1993 Blades finished second in the prestigious Prospects Hockey Tournament in Toronto, May 25-27, 2007. The Prospects Tournament is the most skilled and competitive spring/summer hockey showcase in North America. There were 29 teams from across North America competing. In the playoffs, the Blades beat the Mid-America Selects 2-0, beat the East Coast Selects 6-5, beat the Boston Junior Bruins 3-2, and loss to the Tornoto Moe Hockey 1-2 in the Championship.
     
  • The 1993 Blades opened the 2007 spring season playing in the Chicago Mission AAA Chi-Town Shuffle Tournament. The Blades went undefeated in pool play beating Victory Honda from Michigan, Chicago Cougars, and Chicago Chill. In the semi-finals the Blades beat the Puck Pirates from St. Louis. The championship game match up was between the Chicago Mission and the Blades. The Blades lost to the Mission 2-1 in overtime.
     
  • The Minnesota 1993 Blades team is the Consolation Champion for the 2006 Winnipeg Champions Cup held May 25-28. The Minnesota Blades beat the Minnesota Icemen 6-1 in the Consolation Championship. The Saskatchewan Wheatland Stars finished first, the Saskatchewan Hustlin Huskies second, Calgary Foothills Elite Phantoms third, and the Manitoba Moose fourth. In round robin play, the Minnesota Blades beat the Okanagan Grizzlys 5 to 4 and the Saskatchewan Hustlin Huskies 6 to 4. The Blades loss to the Saskatchewan Wheatland Stars 4 to 2 and the Calgary Foothills Elite Phantoms 6 to 2.
     
  • The Minnesota 1993 Blades finished third in the 2006 BEST OF THE WEST 1993 AAA CHALLENGE on May 12-14 in Calgary, Alberta. The Blades beat the Foothills Elite 7 to 3 for the third place spot. The Edmonton NAS Team Xtreme won the championship by beating the Wheatland Stars 6 to 2. The Blades loss to Team Xtreme 4 to 2 in the semifinal game. Teams competing included: Foothills Elite, Hustlin Huskies, Minnesota Blades, NAA Storm, Edmonton NAS Team Xtreme, National Hockey Development, Wheatland Stars, and the Manitoba Moose.
