Blades Players Leave Big Mark on Tournament

ST. PAUL, MN - Eight U19 Minnesota Blades players took the ice at the Xcel Energy Center for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament February 19-22, and all took home hardware.  Jacq Kaasa (who had a goal and an assist), Rachel Herzog (an assist) and Taylor Wemple helped lead the Hill-Murray Pioneers to the Class AA State Championship.  Morgan Manes, who had the game-winning goal in triple overtime of the quarterfinals and also registered two assists, helped lead her Lakeville North team to third place in Class AA.  Michelle Holmes recorded an assist in helping her Andover Huskies win the Consolation Championship in Class AA.  In Class A, Lauren Boettcher (1 goal and 3 assists), Clare Tipler and Andrea Olson helped lead an up-start St. Paul United team to a 4th place finish, nearly knocking off #1-seeded East Grand Forks in the semifinals.  Congratulations to all the Blades and former Blades on an amazing State Tournament!
