The Brick super-novice hockey tournament is the most unique and competitive tournament for 10 year-old hockey players in North America.

The Brick super-novice hockey tournament is the most unique and competitive tournament for 10 year-old hockey players in North America.  Because it only includes a single level (for 10 year-olds), it truly is a once in a lifetime experience.  Played entirely at the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, the Brick features teams representing 6 provinces and 5 states and leaves each team charged with gathering the best players in their region.  2011 will also include two European teams.  This system creates a very strong level of competition.

The Brick is the first gathering of most of the best players in North America at every birth year.  To get an idea of what makes this tournament different, go to www.BrickHockeyHighlights.com.

For fifteen years the Minnesota Blades have been proud to represent Minnesota at the Brick.  For the 2011 Brick team, the Minnesota Blades will host a tryout designed to give players from all of the best Minnesota AAA teams an opportunity to try out for the Brick team.  The team will be picked by a group of independent evaluators along with Coach Pitlick.  Our goal is to gather 100% of the top players in Minnesota on one team for one month in order to win the Brick tournament.

The 2011 Brick team will be coached by Lance Pitlick and Greg Dornbach. The 2011 Brick team will gather for the first time after Memorial Day and practice through June, leading up to the tournament in Edmonton on July 3 through July 10 (Note: date change from June 26-July 3).

Tryouts were held in December, 2010.
